Subhajit Chakraborty, Ph.D. is a tenured Professor in the Management and Decision Sciences department of the E. Craig Wall Sr. College of Business at Coastal Carolina University. He holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration with a focus on operations management from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley; a P.G.D.M. (MBA) from Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar, India; and a Bachelor of Engineering (BS) degree in Chemical Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Rourkela, India. He is a practitioner turned academician with 11 years of experience in operations, supply chain and information technology domains with experience as an expatriate; a certified PMP since 2003 and a senior member of the American Society for Quality (ASQ). His teaching interests are in quality management, operations management, supply chain management and project management, both at the undergraduate and graduate levels while his research interests include service quality along firms’ supply chain, service design and lean healthcare operations. For his research, Subhajit has won both practitioner awards such as the 2022 Gryna award, and academic awards such as the James P. and Elizabeth R. Blanton Distinguished Research Award 2022 from the E. Craig Wall Sr. College of Business, Coastal Carolina University. He serves on the editorial board of two high impact journals—the International Journal of Operations & Production Management (IJOPM), and the International Journal of Management Reviews (IJMR); and as the treasurer of the Operations and Supply Chain Management (OSCM) division of the Academy of Management (AOM). His recent works have been published in several journals—in OSCM, health care management (HCM), and the broader management domain.
